Announcement of the Results of the Awards of the Committee on Social Communication and Media Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences

During the 10th meeting of the Committee on Social Communication and Media Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, held on 20 October 2025, the winners of the Committee’s Award for an outstanding scholarly publication (article) and a book-length publication (monograph) in the discipline of Social Communication and Media Studies were selected.

In the category of Best Scholarly Book Publication (Monograph), the award was granted to Paweł Urbaniak for the book The System of Media Accountability in Poland in Comparison with Systems in Other Countries, Wrocław University Press, Wrocław 2024 [nominated by the Scientific Council of the Discipline of Social Communication and Media Studies of the University of Wrocław].

In the category of Best Scholarly Article, the award was granted to Krzysztof Stępniak for the article “Communicating the Sacred in Religious Advertising in Light of the Mediatization of Religion Theory and Research on Digital Religion”, Church, Communication and Culture 2023, no. 8(2), pp. 285–307, https://doi.org/10.1080/23753234.2023.2244537 [nominated by the Scientific Council of the Discipline of Social Communication and Media Studies of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw].
